I had the idea to turn a friend's daughter into two different popular characters in my photography studio. I already knew that my model, Sophie, looked like Elsa from the Disney movie series Frozen and Daenerys Targaryen from the television series Game of Thrones. I thought it would be great to have a collaborative project with a make-up artist who could enhance the looks of both characters. Mechelle Ward did the real life make up, which was a good foundation for the digital make up I applied later in Photoshop. I spent a few hours applying the make up. It also took some time searching for snowflakes that would look good in the portrait while finding snow and winter like colors for the digital background. Sophie did an extraordinary job taking direction for the looks that I wanted to achieve for each character. She smirked on cue and held her hands in just the right positions. I am planning to have Elsa mini session portraits in the next few months here at my studio. You can see how much work goes into a photo of this type. I photographed Sophie on a white background and hand designed the rest of the image in Photoshop. I do not use templates because I don't like other artists work representing my style.
