A few weeks ago I worked with Tyler in my studio and on location to capture his senior portraits. He wanted to be photographed in his basketball uniform and have one outfit change for some outdoor portraits. He chose the black version of his high school basketball uniform for the studio session. I had him perform different actions, such as dribbling and palming a basketball in order to give a variety of looks. The outdoor part of his senior portrait took place in downtown Mount Olive, North Carolina. I try to look for colors and textures when doing outdoor portraits and I found a really rusty door that framed Tyler really well. Not too far from the door, we did several portraits on a stairway and near a brick wall. I thought it would be a good idea to take Tyler to a restaurant called Rib Eyes. I knew there were some iron bars surrounding the exterior portion of the outdoor eating area. A railroad track runs right in front of the restaurant and we finished up the session there.
