I really love to photograph athletes! Athletes typically have equipment that they use, which gives them something to do with their hands. Having equipment or a uniform on also helps to tell their story. I have worked for many years with local high schools and middle schools photographing their athletes.  Here is a list of the sports that I've worked with: Football, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, volleyball, tennis, soccer and even dance. I like to be as creative as possible when I make a sports portrait! As you can see in the raining football image, it would be difficult to get a shot in real life like that. My battery powered lights would probably shock me if they got wet! To create that image, I went to his local high school and photographed the field and stadium and then combined the studio images of him, with the field images to make a composite. I then added the rain and night time look in Photoshop.
