Fall Sports Fun with Faison Recreation: Volleyball and Soccer

This fall, I had the honor of capturing the excitement of the Faison Recreation Department’s volleyball and soccer seasons, and let me tell you—it was a whirlwind! With six nights dedicated to team and individual photos for soccer and volleyball, it was a packed schedule, but every moment was worth it.

The soccer field provided a stunning backdrop for the photos. I used a three-light setup to create bright, crisp portraits that highlighted each player’s focus and determination. As the sun went down, I had to keep a close eye on the changing light and adjust the setup to ensure every shot came out just right. The results were dynamic and vibrant—perfect for capturing the spirit of these young athletes.

On the volleyball side, we had so much fun bringing out each player’s personality during the photo shoot. Every pose was tailored to fit the athlete perfectly, creating images that were as unique as the players themselves. I used a four-light setup with one blue gel to add intensity and drama to the shots, giving the photos a bold, powerful edge.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible community support. A huge thank you goes out to Matthew Scott for his leadership and dedication to growing these programs, the volunteer coaches who work tirelessly with the athletes, and the parents who support their kids every step of the way.

It’s inspiring to see how Faison Recreation brings people together to invest in the next generation. These programs are about more than sports—they’re about building confidence, teamwork, and lifelong memories. I’m grateful to play a small part in that through photography and can’t wait to see what’s next!
