The fall leaves were in abundance as I photographed the Taylor family at the Cliffs of the Neuse state park in Seven Springs, NC several weeks ago. It is a small but beautiful park with the Neuse river, a lake and several hiking trails. We started our family portrait session on the shores down by the lake and then finished up by a boat dock. The weather was perfect for a family portrait session, mild and sunny! The water in the lake has an emerald green color and it is just a great spot for interesting images. I accentuated the color of the leaves in Photoshop because the leaves in reality were lacking in color. I have to use three separate filters in Photoshop in order to get the trees to resemble fall foliage. It takes about 10 minutes per photo in order to achieve this look. This can be done any time of year, so if you ever want fall portraits then book a family portrait session when the time is right for you.
